The lower chamber of the National Assembly on Tuesday went back on its decision over the rejection of the gender bill earlier rejected by the lawmakers. The bills slated for reconsideration are those on citizenship, indigeneship and the 35% affirmative action for women. A Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked the Governor of Ebonyi State David Umahi and his Deputy Kelechi Igwe over their defection to the All Progressive Congress. The duo were elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party but defected to the APC last year.
