The Governor of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, will on Monday open for use the Olaiya flyover in the heart of the state capital. The flyover had been under construction for more than a year compelling the state government to divert traffic from the area. President Muhammadu Buhari has on Friday signed the Electoral Bill into law. His media aide, Femi Adesina, had earlier indicated that baring all unforeseen circumstances, the president was expected to append his signature to the document on Friday. The electoral bill had become a thorny issue nationwide with various organization staging protests to have it signed. U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday announced new sanctions on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine, saying that Russian leader Vladimir Putin “chose this war” and his country would bear the consequences. The sanctions target Russian banks, oligarchs and high-tech sectors, Biden said. Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele late Wednesday denied procuring private jets to prosecute his rumoured 2023 presidential ambition. Emefiele, who opened a new twitter account on Wednesday, described as “fake” an online report which claimed that he had purchased three private jets in preparation for his presidential ambition.
