The Chicago State University on Monday complied with a court order to release the academic records of the Nigerian president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This was a request by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general election, Atiku Abubakar.
NPO Reports that the United States District Court of Illinois had given an order in which it gave the university till today to release the academic records of the Nigerian president who submitted that he attended and graduated from the institution.
Tinubu had declined to release his academic records, insisting that they were private information. However, the US court ruled that Atiku’s interest in obtaining the documents outweighs Tinubu’s privacy interests.
One of the ministers serving under the Tinubu administration Festus Keyamo, has already reacted to the release of the records.
He wrote “From the responses by Chicago State University, ATIKU’s journey to Chicago and back has been a journey to nowhere, a fruitless exercise and an odyssey in self-humiliation. President Tinubu and Nigerians deserve an unreserved apology from him,” he
