Senate President, Godwill Akpabio, on Friday told President Bola Tinubu that members of the National Assembly are not happy with the withdrawal of their policemen as ordered by the President.
Akpabio stated this while delivering his welcome speech following Tinubu’s arrival for the presentation of his 2016 appropriations bill at a joint sitting of the lawmakers.
The former Akwa-Ibom governor urged the President to review the decision while expressing the assembly’s readiness to receive the 2026 budget.
“Let me say, Mr. President, that the National Assembly is ready for you. We are ready to receive the 2026 budget.
“We share in all the pains you have gone through in the last one year. And we also share in the joys and applause of the reform agenda of your administration.
“Only one concern Mr President, as regarding the security agencies and withdrawn police officers. Some of the National Assembly members said I should let you know that they may not be able to go home today.
“On that note, we plead with Mr. President for a review of the decision. May God bless. ay God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” Akpabio said.
