Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has arrived at the ongoing National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) faction backed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Saraki arrived at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, alongside former Nigerian Vice President, Sule Lamido, and other PDP chieftains.
They were received by Wike and members of the factional PDP caretaker committee.
While announcing his arrival in a post shared on his X handle, Saraki also confirmed the presence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials.
“I’ve just arrived at the Velodrome of the MKO Abiola National Stadium for the PDP National Convention.
“Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission @inecnigeria are also on ground, as required, to observe proceedings.
“We thank them for their presence and continued commitment to strengthening our democratic process.” Saraki wrote.
The event would see the faction elect new National Working Committee members despite ongoing efforts to reconcile with the the Tanimu Turaki-led faction produced by the 2025 Ibadan National Convention.
NPO Reported Wike’s insistence on the conduct of the Abuja convention amid the reocncilliation process.
