Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo has been confirmed dead on Sunday.
Ogogo’s daughter, Halimah Taiwo revealed this during her live stream on Sunday evening.
This is coming days after Halimah announced her late father’s battle with cancer and cried for help on social media.
NPO Reported that she revealed her father’s battle with stage 4 cancer and the hospital has stopped treatment and administration of chemotherapy due to the critical condition.
According to Halimah, the family was not soliciting for money as the All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate for 2027 Ogun State Gubernatorial Election, Sen. Adeola Solomon, popularly known as Yayi, has been sponsoring the bill for his treatment.
During the live, Halimah who was wailing still couldn’t accept the death of her father and repeatedly said she can’t believe it.
“My daddy is dead sir, I don’t believe it! I can’t! I want to go home,” she said
NPO Reported that after Halimah’s outcry concerning her father’s situation, Ogogo’s colleagues converged on Friday to hold a prayer session on his behalf, asking for divine healing and quick recovery.
Those featured in the prayer session included veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, Yinka Quadri, Rotimi Salami, Mr Latin, Adewale Elesho and Antar Laniyan.
Also joining the prayer via FaceTime was fellow veteran actor, Adebayo Salami.
The 66-year-old actor has appeared in over 300 films, often in action-oriented Yoruba movies, and has also written, produced, and directed.
Some of his Notable movies include Atitebi, Agbelebu, Danfo Driver, Dr Brown, Okan Soso, Apaadi, Aníkúlápó (and its sequel), Olokiki Oru, and many others.
In an interview with the In Sider before his demise, he revealed that he was on the sick bed for seven years and would constantly vomit blood.
“I spent 7years on a sick bed, I use to vomit blood. I prayed while sitting down for so long,” he said.
