An aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Tolu Ogunlesi, has released statistical data on the frequency of national power grid before the advent of the present administration.
Tracing the history of collapses from 2010 to 2020, a period of ten years, Ogunlesi cited data which he said he sourced from “System Operator.”
The statistics showed that in 2010, a total of 42 cases of grid collapse happened while in 2011, 19 cases were recorded.

The bulk of the country has been thrown into darkness for days, due to another system collapse.
The development has caused businesses to close down while hardship mount at the domestic level.
The problem is further compounded by heat in the country and fuel scarcity.
