A 52-year-old Canadian returnee, Morufudeen Idowu, has bagged three months jail term over physical assault on an official of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC).
This was confirmed in a s statement issued on Friday by the state’s Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.
According to the statement, Morufudeen was apprehended after crossing the Ojota expressway.
He engaged then the one of the LAGESC official in brawl which left the official bloodied.
Following his arrest, he was arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting at Oshodi area of the state.
“Following the arrest of Mr Morufudeen Idowu who assaulted one of our personnels and refused arrest while crossing the expressway at Ojota, he was arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting at Oshodi, and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment.” Wahab wrote.
