Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been forced to eat the humble pie as renowned streamer, Oderhowho Efe (Carter Efe), dethroned the singer as celebrity boxing champion.
After months of dramas and clashes, Portable and Carter Efe faced off at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event held at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday night.
Portable was largely tipped by fans to win the match considering his experience in the ring where he had previously defeated fellow celebrities like Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
However, the novice Carter Efe was poised to contain with his height advantage against the ferocious Portable.
In one last dirty talks at each other before the bout, Portable bragged of his past victories as expressed confidence in beating Carter Efe to defend his title.
“I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now,” The singer said.
Efe, however, talked down the threat, replying, “One punch and you fall.”
As against most fans’ expectation, the streamer’s height advantage indeed played out against the experienced Portable as he outclassed the singer across three rounds.
According to reports, Portable came out aggressively in the first round, latching out wild punches which failed to record any head shot against a more composed Efe.
The streamer however managed to land calculated uppercuts and body shots on the singer.
The second round saw Portable returning with same aggressive pattern of erratic attacks.
This time, Efe improved his accuracy with clean combinations.
By the third round, Efe had taken full control of an exhausted Portable as consistently found his target, delivering couple of heat shots which sent the singer spiraling across the ring before the final bell.
At the end of the bout, all three judges scored 30-27 in Carter Efe’s favour, ending Portable’s unbeaten run and stripping him of his status as celebrity boxing king.
The boxing match had drawn the attention of hundreds of spectators to the venue with millions of viewers across the world also streaming live via DAZN which secured the broadcasting right for the match.
