Announces Arrest of Suspected Perpetrators of Vegetable Market Abduction

The Edo State Government has demolished a house linked to a suspected kidnapping sponsor in Uromi area of the state.
Officials of the state government on Friday embarked on the demolition exercise following their arrival at the community which had over the years been ravaged with kidnapping incidents.
Video shared captured moment the official stormed the premises, sealing off the building while ordering its occupants to evacuate.
Addressing newsmen, the team leader whose name could not be confirmed as at the time of filing this report, said the building belonged one Christian Okoduha who had been linked to series of kidnapping incidents within the community.
The Edo government official revealed that several suspected kidnappers arrested had referenced Okoduha as the mastermind and sponsor of their operations.
The suspected kidnap sponsor allegedly recruited mercenaries from northern part of the country to carry out the abductions in Uromi.
“This building belongs to one Christian Okoduha who has been linked severally to a kidnapping blockchain where he imports mercenaries from other Hausa neighbouring states to this Uromi to do this kidnapping business.
“And all the arrest we’ve made have linked him directly to all of these.
“The investigation has proven that he is the mastermind and culprit of all these ferocious kidnapping in this Uromi and the hands of the law has met him.
“We have the marching order upon investigation that his building should go down because that is the law once you are linked to all of these.
“Most of the persons we have arrested also mentioned his name.” He said.
The official further announced the arrest of the suspected masterminds of the Vegetable Market kidnapping.
Recall that a group of armed men had on Sunday attacked a couple at the market, kidnapping a woman after foiled attempt to abduct her husband.
According to the Edo government official, the masterminds of the kidnap have been arrested and detained.
“The Sunday kidnapping at vegetable market, the mastermind of the kidnapping has been caught. As we speak, they are in the state CID.” He said.
However, the Edo Police Command is yet to confirm the development.
