Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to weigh in on the political atmosphere ahead of the Osun governorship election as he prepares to address issues surrounding his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign
The Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee, disclosed that he will be having the briefing in Imole House, Osogbo on Wednesday, 5th of August by 11.am
The conference is expected to focus on security concerns, the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission and other major issues ahead of the governorship election in the state
“I will be having a press conference tomorrow in Imole House, Osogbo, to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues,” he wrote.
NPO reports that Davido has remained one of the most visible supporters of Governor Adeleke since the governor assumed office in 2022, frequently using his social media platforms to campaign for him.
His involvement has become more pronounced in the build-up to the governorship election, with the singer attending campaign activities, mobilising supporters and publicly backing his uncle’s bid for a second term.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on the 15th of August, with Governor Adeleke seeking re-election against candidates of other political parties, including the APC’s Bola Oyebamiji.
