Another fire incident broke out on Sunday at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
FAAN confirmed the incident in a statement shared on its official X handle, saying its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service had been deployed to contain the blaze.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos,” the statement read.
According to the agency, firefighters were actively working to bring the situation under control and prevent the fire from spreading.
“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation,” it added.
FAAN assured the public that no casualties or fatalities had been recorded.
“There have been no reported casualties or loss of life,” the authority said.
As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire was not immediately disclosed.
