Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has paid homage to President Bola Tinubu with a courtesy visit to Aso Rock in Abuja.
This is coming barely a week after his reinstatement by the President after the completion of his six months suspension.
NPO Reported that the governor was last week Wednesday reinstated after Tinubu’s declaration of the end of emergency rule in Rivers.
In the wake of the declaration, the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, who was appointed by the President to oversee the affairs of the state while Fubara’s suspension lasts, stepped down from his role.
The governor formally resumed on Friday with teeming crowd welcoming him at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
While he had expressed his gratitude to Tinubu during his state-wide broadcast hours after his return, Fubara on Monday evening arrived at the Presidential Villa to physically appreciate the President.
As confirmed by aides and officials stationed at the villa entrance, the Rivers governor arrived at about 6:20 p.m.
