A gang of unknown gunmen has attacked a GUO Transport company’s bus along Benin-Ore Highway, killing the bus driver while abducting several passengers.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday with videos recorded by other commuters showing the empty bus awkwardly parked with the abducted passengers’ luggage littered across the road.
While the actual number of the abducted passengers is currently unknown, the first responders at the scene of the attack claimed the driver was killed.
The development had sent shrill to the spine of other commuters who, in one of the videos shared on X, screamed after being told that the driver bus was killed as they drove past the attacked bus.
However, no official statement confirming the incident and number of casualties has been released by the police or the Edo state government.
