Ibrahim El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared his hatred for politics as he accused northern leaders and his Arewa followers of hypocrisy.
Addressing those urging him to join politics, the son of the ex-Kaduna governor held that he is not interested in political career.
He made this known in a now viral video shared on social media on Sunday.
Ibrahim who had since sparked fresh controversies over his look charged northern traditional rulers, religious leaders, and his Arewa followers to leave his page over their criticism of his identity.
As seen in the video, the former Kaduna governor’s son was putting on chains, earrings, and plaited hair.
A semi-nude picture of him had also raised speculations of possible membership with queer community.
Speaking in the video, Ibrahim accused the northerners of hypocrisy, stressing that only thing he shared with them was his solidarity with Palestinians.
He held that the northerners concern about the Palestinians was only borne out of the fact that they are predominantly Muslims and not out of love for humanity.
Ibrahim accused the northerners of pretending to love one another as he declared in hatred and disinterestedness in politics.
“Arewa people, religious people, traditional people, please leave my page.
“We do not share the same values. The only thing we equally agree on is Palestine and even then, the only reason you care is because those people are Muslims not because they are humans.
“Do you people think I’m some like golden goose mythical being that you are entitled to? I know I don’t want to be a politician.
“Anytime my friends say I should be a politician, it pisses me off. I don’t want to. I hate it.
“I don’t want to be one of your Arewa socialites that pulls up to your stupid weddings where everyone fakes that they like each other. The only wedding I care about is Zumar 2025.” He said.
The ex-Kaduna governor’s son recounted how a distant cousin once accused him of severing ties with other relatives.
He read his chat with the said cousin who heavily criticised his personality without even knowing his name.
“Like I remember when one distant cousin on my dad’s side confronted me when I was in KD, saying we don’t contact other that is not good and in the same breath, he mistook me for my brother Kedilo. He didn’t even know my name.
“I tell him I’m not him. I’m Ibrahim. Like do you see how ridiculous this is? I don’t want to play polo. I don’t give a hoot about horses.
“‘All you know is blowing shisha and watching ball. On a certain level, I don’t even think you are fully human.’ Yes, I have earring and I have chains. I wear chains and I don’t give a f**k.” He said.
