He disclosed selling his car to buy a motorcycle.
“I relocated to Badagry just because I wanted to have a building of my own. It has really affected my career. It has caused a lot of setbacks, especially for my major profession which is acting.
“What am I supposed to do when I am not ready to beg for food.
“I lost my Nissan Quest. Ordinary shock absorber, it was there for almost two years. I wasn’t getting acting jobs. I was into photography but wasn’t getting job too. The camera got spoilt
“Where they even saw me and felt pity for me was a minor thing.
“I actually sold my Nissan Quest to buy a fairly used motorcycle. The money was not enough to buy a new one. I sold the car for N180,000.
“I had another bad experience. I wasn’t used to motorcycle job, so I just kept falling. Whenever I remember what my wife and children had gone through with me… “The actor said before braking down in tears.
Afolabi further recalled being challenged by a man who charged him to seek assistance.
“A man saw me and insulted me. ‘Are you the only one. You are TV star. If you don’t know what to do, go back to the city and meet your people as an actor.’
“He said he is not happy seeing me in such manner. The actor said.
While recalling his early acting days, Afolabi disclosed that he had since been engaged in several businesses before settling for transportation.
“I got to Lagos since 1970. I started theatre job with Adelove. I was their drummer back then. I joined NTA when it was ANTPC or something.
“I discovered that I have more fans from Owo Blow, Trace by Moonlight, Village Headmaster, Super Story, Nowhere to be Found,
“I tried to be a tailor but it didn’t work. I learnt how to fix solar. I call myself Jack of all trade and master of all. What I hate most in my life is to beg for food. I would rather do any legitimate job.“ He said.
Afolabi solicited for assistance to get a better car he can use for Uber as he disclosed that his minibus is currently faulty, prompting his calling of passengers of other drivers at the park.
“I had reasons to call passengers because I was using minibus.
“The engine has worn out, and I need to change it. I am ready to do any kind of job. If I have a good car, I will use it for Uber.“ He said.
