The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction backed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared former lawmaker, Sen. Sandy Onor as its consensus candidate for the 2027 Presidential Election.
The faction adopted Onor as it candidate at the party’s presidential primaries held on Tuesday.
The emergence of the ex-lawmaker, who represented Cross Rivers Central Senatorial District, is coming hours after the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, was cleared by the court to contest for the 2027 election.
Jonathan has been strongly tipped to return to the ballot under the flagship of the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the PDP.
