The Lagos State Government has on Monday re-arraigned convicted billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, before a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja over the murder of two police officers.
Evans and his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, were reportedly arraigned before Justice A. O. Ogala on a five-count charge bordering on murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
The defendants however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Evans is currently facing five different criminal cases for kidnapping and the murder of several victims and has already been convicted in two of the cases.
Recall that Evans was arrested on the 11th of June 2017.
About 20 security operatives were reported to have stormed the Fred Shoboyejo home of the kidnapper less than a month after the police announced a thirty-million-naira bounty in return for information leading to his arrest.
Evans was said to have co-ordinated bank robberies across Oyo, Port Harcourt and Abia, as well as numerous high-profile kidnaps whose ransoms amount to hundreds of millions of naira.
