A middle-aged man was on Monday restrained with duct tape on board an American Airlines flight following attack on two passengers.
The man was reportedly to have created scenes during the flight from Dallas to New York last week.
According to CNN, two passengers who witnessed the drama recounted how the man suddenly became aggressive, hitting two passengers, including a woman who tried to intervene.
Two other passengers on board the flight, Richard Olmeck and Juan Majia, said the man was swearing and using racial and homophobic slurs.
The two passengers intervened in containing the aggressive man with another person using zip tie to restrain the man.
He however attempted to bite Olmeck, prompting the use of duct tape to hold hm down.
As seen in a now viral video shared on X on Monday, the unruly passenger was heavily strapped to his seat with duct tapes until the aircraft arrived at its destination.
According to a statement by the Federal Aviation Administration, the American Airlines flight was on its way from Dallas to New York when the crew reported the incident.
An FBI statement said the plane was received by police in Maryland, and the passenger was removed and arrested on state charges.
Meanwhile, the man had since been identified as 67-year-old Arthur Lundeen who hails from Arizona.
Lundeen who works at a Tucson, Arizona real estate company, has reportedly been fired from his job in the wake of the incident.
