Nigerian journalist and Arise TV’s political analyst, Dr. Reuben Abati, has made mockery of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over his performance under the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
Abati had during Arise TV’s Morning show on Monday accused Oyetola of underperformance in his office, stressing that the former Osun state governor had only been actively seen in media on issues relating to the 2026 Osun Governorship Election.
The journalist charged the minister to focus on carrying out the task Tinubu assigned him to do on blue economy.
‘As for Minister Oyetola, he is the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy. He has been there for quite some time now. He has not been very eloquent about the blue economy.
‘In the morning I was talking about people who have been very active in President Tinubu’s government, I know I’ve been representing him very well and I provided the criteria. This minister Oyetola, the only time that he is so much in the news is Osun election.
‘His name has been featuring back and forth. He has a more important assignment which is the blue economy.
‘It was President Tinubu that gave special focus to that particular ministry as he has also done to some other ministries.’ He said.
Abati warned Oyetola against plot to rig the election as he called for the free and fair conduct at the poll.
‘Please let us ask Mr. Oyetola, what is he doing with his assignment and he is talking about snatching.’
‘He must not snatch anything. He must not snatch ballot boxes, papers, or any polling booths.
‘His cohorts and other players should allow democracy to thrive in Osun. We want the people of Osun state to be the ones to make free and fair choice in Osun. ‘ He said.
