Nollywood romantic comedy, Call of My Life, has won the Favourite Feature Narrative Audience Award at the 2026 BlackStar Film Festival in Philadelphia, United States.
Party Jollof TV announced the recognition in a social media post, describing it as a major international milestone for the film and its creative team.
Selected for the festival, Call of My Life was screened on August 7 as part of its official programme showcasing works by Black and Indigenous filmmakers.
Directed by Dammy Twitch, Call of My Life follows Soluchi, a call centre agent dealing with heartbreak, whose life changes after a work-related phone call connects her with Eli, a man who captures her interest.
The movie stars Uzoamaka Power, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Beverly Osu, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Zubby Michael, Broda Shaggi and Justin UG, which blends romance and comedy around Soluchi’s unexpected connection.
Produced by Blessing Uzzi under Bluhouse Studios, Call of My Life opened in Nigerian cinemas on May 15 and has drawn attention for its romantic storyline.
With its latest recognition, Call of My Life adds to its growing international profile while highlighting the increasing presence of Nigerian filmmakers on global festival platforms and giving local productions wider exposure beyond the domestic market.
The BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of films and stories by Black, Brown and Indigenous creators from around the world.
The 15th edition took place in Philadelphia from August 6 to 9.
