The police will continue to provide necessary security to ensure that will enable residents observe their Friday congressional prayers peacefully without threats to their lives and property
Amidst apprehensions over two Emirs -Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Aminu Ado Bayero- leading the Friday prayer in Kano today, the Nigeria Police Force has said the two conflicting monarchs will not clash.
The Commissioner of Police Usaini Gumel, said adequate security provisions have been made where Sanusi, who is to lead the main mosque prayer will pray. Gumel said contrary to information on social media, Bayero is confined to the Nasarawa palace where he is to pray today without any clash with supporters of Sanusi.
”The police urges the general public to disregard the false reports and misinformation circulating on social media and go about their activities without fear of molestation or intimidation.
”The police will continue to provide necessary security to ensure that will enable residents observe their Friday congressional prayers peacefully without threats to their lives and property,” he said.
