The Nigerian Police Force has reacted to viral video of a self-acclaimed officer and Lagos bus driver threatening to kill his passengers and dump their bodies in the river.
The driver who was dressed in police mufti and face cap was alleged to have issued the threat following argument with the passengers.
As captured in the video shared on X on Monday, the driver could be seen verbally assaulting the passengers as he was challenged to repeat the threat while being recorded.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued on his x handle on Tuesday, the Force New Media Officer, Aliyu Giwa, disclosed that the driver is not putting on a standard police uniform, adding that claims of his membership with the Force is yet to be confirmed.
Aliyu however condemned the self-acclaimed officer’s threat against the passengers, labelling it an unprofessional behaviour.
