The Lagos Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan has summoned one Mrs. Udoka, also known as Mary Queen, for calling out an author, Ayengbe Ebhohimen, over his controversial textbook published for Nursery School pupils.
Mrs. Udoka had in a video circulating on social media called out Ebhohimen over a section of his published 2nd Edition of English Language Foundation textbook where the author included a comprehension passage about a man and his dog.
The passage tells the story of a man who totured his dog with a hot iron rod following its failure to guard a steak of meat kept under its watch.

Mrs. Udoka had expressed concern over the passage, stressing that it is too disturbing for a Nursery school pupil.
Days after making the post, the woman would in a separate video shared on X last week, cried out over alleged threat to her family.
She disclosed receiving threatening calls with demands for her to delete the video which she did.
Police were also reported to have been inviting and interrogating those linked to her.
The police, according to a statement issued on X by human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, ordered the woman to appear at the command on Thursday.
Inibehe, who stepped in as Mrs. Udoka’s legal counsel, questioned the police jurisdiction over the case as he accused the author of using the police to harass his client.
“Following the invitation and harassment of our Client, Mrs. Udoka, Mary Queen, by the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, it pertinent to disclose that we will be going to the police command today, Thursday, 30th April, 2026.
“We will be reporting with our Client as law abiding citizens and out of respect for the institution of the @PoliceNG, not because we believe that Mary Queen committed any crime or that there’s a basis for the involvement of the police in this matter.” The lawyer said.
Inibehe charged Ebhohimen to be ready to justify his action while hoping that the police will address the case profressionally with respect to Mrs. Udoka’s fundamental human rights.
“However, we want to be clear that Ayengbe Ebhohimen JB, the author of the textbook, who has instigated the police against our client, will have to justify his actions.
“We are hoping that the officers at Zone 2 Police Command will be able to explain to us what their business is with this matter.
“It is also hoped that they will respect the fundamental rights of our Client and keep the interaction professional.” He added.
