The Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has slammed the 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress Presidential candidate as he questioned his contribution to the Igboland since he joined politics.
This is coming amid the ongoing controversies surrounding the Anambra State Government’s release of unsettled debt allegedly accumulated under Obi’s administration.
NPO Reported that the state government’s had last week released a report allegedly that Obi owed N127.4 billion from eight different external borrowings during his eight years tenure
While Obi is yet to directly address the report which emerged days after throwing out a challenge to anyone who can present his debt profile in Anambra, supporters of the ex-Anambra had however disputed the allegations as controversies linger.
Addressing a group of supporters at the weekend, Soludo further fueled the controversy as he accused Obi of playing with Igbos emotions while questioning him in on his contribution to the development of the region.
“Ask him, since he has been in politics, what has he brought for the Igbos?
“Look at the bad state and erosion in Anambra for a long time. Since he started politics, what has he done about it?
Then, when it’s time for election, you come and start playing with our emotions and still want us to waste our “votes on you and remain where we are.” Soludo said in Igbo.
The Anambra governor held that Igbos will vote right in 2027, affirming that they will not vote out of emotions like the previous election.
“It won’t happen again. 2027 will be different. We Igbos will get our own share this time around by voting right.” He said.
