Renowned Nigerian music producer, Soso Soberekon, has offered afrobeat singer, Peter Okoye, N500 million to fight his twin brother, Paul Okoye, in a celebrity boxing match to settle their feud.
Soberekon’s challenge against the brothers, who once dominated the music industry under the now defunct PSquare stage name, is coming days after the revived feud between the duo and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
NPO Reported that Peter Okoye, now known by his new stage name, Mr.P, had last week dropped series of videos where he laid multiple allegations against Jude and Paul.
Mr. P’s allegations ranged from the disagreement with his brothers over properties and royalties to Jude’s assaults on his wife, Lola Okoye.
Amid the ongoing saga, Soberekon proposed a new way of settling the PSquare as he dared Peter Okoye to challenge Paul, now known as Rude Boy, for a fight.
The music producer made the offer during a recent stage performance by Peter.
Video shared on X showed Soberekon raising his phone up with a message which read; ‘500 million Naira to fight your twin in a boxing match’.
Peter, in reaction, smiled at the offer before proceeding with his performance.
It however remains unclear if the singer will accept the offer and challenge is brother, Paul, for a fight.
The celebrity boxing match had in recent years become one of the most anticipated events in the entertainment industry.
Usually organised by show promoters, AK Promotions and Balmoral Group Promotion, the celebrity boxing match offers entertainers from the music industry, Nollywood, and recently, the content creating industry, opportunity to settle their feud on the ring with winner going home with cash prize and belt.
The most recent match was the face-off between Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha, and controversial singer, Habeeb Okikola, popularly known as Portable.
Okocha emerged winner of the fight held on the 1st of August after Portable walked out of the ring in the 1st round.
Portable’s defeat came barely three months losing bragging right as the undisputed celebrity boxing champion to popular content creator and streamer, Carter Efe.
