Residents have alleged that police officers have fired tear gas and disrupted the distribution of election materials at a Registration Area Centre (RAC) in Modakeke, Osun State.
The incident was recorded at Ife East Local Government Area Ward 10, also Modakeke Ward 3.
In the now trending video seen on X by NPO Reports, some police officers were seen invading the RAC center.
The officers were also accused of firing tear gas into the centre, forcing voters to flee amid the confusion.
Residents further alleged that the disruption led to some election materials being carted away from the centre.
“How can a police officer be using tear gas.
“They took materials and used tear gas. This is Modakeke Ward 10! People are running away, they have taken all voting materials,” she said.
This comes as voters in Osun State head to polling units to elect the next governor.
