Mrs. Lawal-Babalola, mother of the toddler who trended on video some years back asking his mother to calm down has reportedly committed suicide.
Tolulope Lawal-Babalola, who was the mother of Oreofeoluwa, was heard trying to discipline her son who was however telling her to calm down.
A social media user with the X handle @Sammydo214 had posted that the incident happened on Tuesday in Benin.
The video, which went viral, had attracted widespread attention leading to the Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu inviting the family over to his office.
The governor finally met the family in August 2020 during which Sanwo-Olu carried him and asked the then 4 year old boy questions.
“Mummy Calm Down” also became a major billboard campaign phrase as outdoor advertisers used the wordings in their creatives.
NPO Reports that the mother committed suicide in Benin, the Edo state capital with no traces of any reason for her action.
