Sokoto State lawmaker, Sen. Ibrahim Lamido, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged unfair leadership style and internal crisis with the state’s chapter of the party.
Lamido made this known in his resignation letter addressed to his Ward Chairman at Isa South, Isa Local Government Area of the state.
The lawmaker representing Sokoto East Senatorial District further cited lack of cohesion and unresolved disputes within the party as other reasons behind his resignation.
These, according to him, makes it difficult for him to continue his membership.
“I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Isa South, Isa Local Government, Sokoto State Chapter, with immediate effect.
“This decision has not been taken lightly.
“However, the ongoing internal party crisis, suspicion and unfair party leadership style within the party in Sokoto State has made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my membership in good conscience.
“The persistent divisions, lack of cohesion, and unresolved disputes have significantly hindered the progress and unity that the party once stood for.” He wrote.
Lamido, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Primary Healthcare Development and Disease Control, expressed his gratitude to the party for the opportunity given to him to serve.
“I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served and contributed to the party during my time as a member.
“I wish the party well in its efforts to overcome its present challenges and move forward in unity.” He added.
