There is tension in Osun State over the killing of the son of Accord Party’s Women Leader, Kolade Eluyera.
The incident reportedly occurred during a campaign for the re-election of the state’s governor, Ademola Adeleke, in Onireke Campus in Ikire area of the state.
While the circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be confirmed, video shared on Facebook on Saturday however showed hundreds of motorcycles with Accord Party members escorting a truck containing the bloodied body of Eluyera who was lying motionless at the back of the truck.
Meanwhile, the Accord Party accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of the murder.
The women leader’s son was alleged to have been killed at the event by suspected political thugs linked to the APC.
Reacting to the allegation, the Co-Chairman on Media and Publicity for the Osun APC Governorship Election campaign in the state, Kola Olabisi, slammed Accord Party over what he described as playing a dirty politics with the death of a fellow human being in a circumstance which is yet to be unravelled by the police and other statutory security services in the state.
Olabisi in a statement issued on Saturday accused the party of misinforming the people in a bid to gain unmerited political advantage.
“It is uncharitable, wicked and inhuman of the campaign committee wing of the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke to willingly embark on the threatening of the security of the state out of its desperation to sell their difficult candidate who has recorded abysmal failure in its close to four years in the office.
“This deliberate act of misinformation to feed the innocent people of the state with falsehoods in order to gain unmerited political advantage by the failed administration of Governor Adeleke is now shaking the peace of the state to its foundation.
“Must a misfit dabble into an act of selling the most difficult candidate-governor ever in the political history of this country forgetting that a profession is a body of know unknown to a layman?” He said.
While sympathising with the family of the deceased over the loss of the young man, the AMBO Campaign team urged the police to do a thorough investigation on the unfortunate incident with a view to bringing to book whoever might have a hand in the needless gruesome killing.
Olabisi however affirmed the innocence of the party in the incident as he recalled another assassination plot against Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red.
“The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party which has been nefariously feasting on the wicked killing of Kolade at the Onireke Campus Road, Ikire, should be useful to the police during the course of their investigation.
“Our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), is a perfect gentleman who cannot hurt a fly and who does not even have desperation in his political dictionary.
“The verifiably confused Accord Party team in Osun State that is operating in the political wilderness with the fear of the imminent loss of their perpetually-dependent governorship candidate has been looking for any item to hold on to in order to sell their utmost impossible and hard-to-sell gubernatorial candidate.
“This latest false accusation of the hopeless Accord Party team is a mere replay of their false accusation just last week against some of our members of planning to assassinate Mr. Adebayo Adeleke, alias B- Red who is one the sons of Governor Adeleke which the police investigation proved to be false.” He wrote.
The AMBO Campaign spokesperson further recalled that it was in the same Ikire that one of its council chairmen, Remi Abass, was murdered.
Olabisi reaffirmed the team’s confidence in that their candidate, Oyebamiji, will emerge victorious at the August 2026 electio,.
“We haven’t forgotten the fact that it was in the same Ikire that the political hoodlums of the defunct PDP that changed its colour to the Accord Party gruesomely murdered Honourable Remi Abass, the reinstated APC chairman of Irewole Local Government Council Area, sometime ago.
“We want to state without mincing words that the political ambition of our ever-resourceful and pragmatic governorship candidate is not worth the blood of any person in the society.
The lying machine of the Accord Party in the state should go back to their drawing board and cook another lies against our governorship candidate who is vantagely and divinely positioned to chase out the unpopular and relatively unknown Accord Party governorship candidate through the legitimate votes of the good people of Osun State on the 15th August, 2026 as this latest onslaught has hit the rocks as usual.” He added.
