Calls Explanations Over Controversial X Account “Hogwash”
- Safiu Kehinde
A United Kingdom-based Nigerian activist, Kayode Ogundamisi, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, to resign over the controversial X account linked to him.
Ogundamisi made the call in a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday in reaction to the report of INEC’s forensic investigation.
NPO Reported that the commission had yesterday released the report of the forensic investigation which largely vindicated Amupitan with claims that he was impersonated.
INEC labelled the X account fake, adding that the controversial old comment of him allegedly endorsing the All Progressives Congress (APC) never originated from him.
Reacting, Ogundamisi labelled INEC’s report a ‘load of hogwash’ as he charged Amupitan to spare the country of embarrassment by resigning.
“What a load of hogwash. This is truly embarrassing for Nigeria.
