A clip has surfaced showing the moment a passenger on Ibom Air was almost stripped naked on Sunday after an altercation with one of the flight hostesses.
The video, which is one of the several clips which came out after the altercation on Sunday saw the passenger being forcefully removed from the aircraft by officials of the airline.
However, in the course of forcing her out, a hand was seen going for the female passengers top blouse, ripping it open to expose her entire chest.
The video has also drawn condemnations by those who have watched it.
While no one knew what transpired between the passenger and the air hostess leading to the altercation, the first video in circulation showed the Ibom hostess accusing the female passenger of hitting her.
In the video, the passenger was truly seen hitting the hostess and saying “What did you do?” while pointing to her head.
It was learnt that the argument had started when the flight attendant asked the passenger to put off her mobile phone, a directive which the passenger was said to have failed to comply with immediately.
Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority said in his reaction “When cabin crew ask you to turn off your phone before takeoff/landing, simply comply. I can’t understand why simple routine issues would lead to incidents like this. Passengers need to understand that they have responsibilities, not just rights. Will address this after more details become clearer by tomorrow.”
The incident had sparked mixed reactions from netizens as some condemned the airline over the assault on the passenger while others defended the air hostess.
