The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has explained reason why he considered the Peoples Democratic Party unprepared to win 2027 Presidential election.
Wike maintained that the PDP cannot win the presidential election now on account of the internal crisis which destablised the party ad split it to factions.
He made this known while speaking at his monthly media parley on Tuesday.
The FCT Minister held that the party’s current target is to win subnational elections and stablise its structure ahead of the 2031 Presidential election.
‘I’ve always said that PDP cannot win Presidential election now. What we are doing now is to win subnational seat to organise the party against 2031. We must be very clear to people.’ He said.
Wike dismissed concerns over the fate of the presidential candidate of his PDP faction, Sen. Sunday Onor, as he reiterated that the party is not ready to win the presidential election.
‘Don’t be one of the who enter exam hall and did not prepare. You have to prepare yourself. Being a president is not to come out today and say I want to become a president.
‘We have crisis and you cannot wake up with six months to be president of a country.’ He said.
