Agrees Single Term

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria with an agreement on a single four-year term.
NDC leaders and stakeholders came to the agreement at the party’s maiden National Convention on Saturday.
According to reports, the motion for the zoning was moved by Afam Victor Ogene.
The motion raised by the lawmaker representing Ogbaru Constituency of Anambra State in the 10th National Assembly, was adopted by delegates.
Meanwhile, the party further resolved that after the single four-year tenure, the presidential ticket would automatically be zoned to Northern Nigeria.
The decision is expected to open the contest to southern aspirants, including former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and others interested in vying for the party’s presidential ticket.
