Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has celebrated his brother, Adedeji Adeleke, over his emergence as Vanguard’s 2024 personality of the year.
The governor, in a congratulatory message shared on his X handle on Thursday, lauded the father of Nigeria’s Afrobeat musician, David Adeleke (Davido), for his outstanding contribution to Nigeria’s business environment.
Adeleke described the Pacific Holdings Limited CEO as a blessing to Nigeria, adding that he stood as a perfect example of kindness.
He also commended his to Nigeria’s education sector through the establishment of Adeleke University which he claimed has 80% students on scholarship.
The statement read; “On behalf of the government and the good people of Osun state, I celebrate an exceptional businessman, Dr Adedeji Tajudeen Adeleke, on the ‘2024 Vanguard Personality Of The Year’ award conferred on him. This award is an affirmation of the recognition of his outstanding contribution to Nigeria’s business environment and the work on helping the weak in the society.
“For me and many others who have had the rare privilege of knowing Dr. Adeleke, this award will only amplify what we have always known about him, which underscores the increasing recognition of his contributions to Nigeria.
“Dr Adeleke is a blessing to Nigeria, as his faith in the country informed his decision to return home in the late 80s and founded the Pacific Holdings Limited, which has now grown to be a conglomerate, offering not only jobs for Nigerians but also contributing to the Nation’s economic growth.
“In terms of philanthropy, Dr Adeleke stood as a perfect example of kindness, founding a University that made it possible for thousands to have the best education, with more than 80% of the students population on full scholarships. Everyday, I get inspired by his unwavering resolve to impact lives and bring hope for the hopeless.
“I pray to God to give him for more strength and the grace to continue impacting humanity and our society at large.”
