A group of protesters have openly challenged armed Nigerian military personnel, warding off the officials along Oba Adeshida road in Akure, Ondo state.
This was contained in a viral video shared on X on Thursday.
The protesters had stormed the street, barricading the road which hindered the free flow of traffic.
As captured in the video, the soldiers, who appeared to have approached the protesters to give way for their convoy, were met with strong resistance.
One of the military personnel would stir the protesters after corking his gun at them.
The protesters charged towards the enraged soldiers, daring them to shoot.
An official of the Nigerian Police Force would however intervene as he appealed to the soldiers to leave.
The military men eventually held back, stirring the protesters who trolled them as they leave.
Another video footage of the footage shared on X disclosed that the protest was staged by the Ondo state chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in agitation over the spate of insecurity and abduction of students in the state.
