Nigerian music artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been remanded at Ilaro correctional facility in Ogun State over failure to appear in court for the hearing of his ongoing assault case.
This is coming barely a month after he was released from Ilorin prison where he was remanded over alleged defamation suit filed against him by fuji legend, Saheed Osupa.
Portable was released following Osupa’s decision to drop the suit.
Prior to this, the Zazoo crooner was arraigned by the Ogun State government before an Abeokuta Magistrate Court over alleged assault on the government officials.
The court had granted him N2 million bail which he fulfilled.
However, his failure to appear before the court led to rearrest and remand.
According to report, the controversial singer had been in custody since last week Thursday after missing a scheduled hearing at the Magistrate Court in Ifo.
Effort is, however, ongoing by his legal team to secure his release through a bail bond, which was earlier revoked by the Chief Magistrate due to repeated non-compliance with court summons.
