Following the claim by the Acting Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, UNIOSUN branch, Dr. Wende Olaosebikan that the institution was set to join the ongoing strike by ASUU, the school management has debunked the insinuation.
According to statement by the school Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji noted that no plan in sight to join the strike as the school has resumed for the rain semester lecture.
The statement urged the public to disregard the claim by Dr Weinde.
His Statement, “This is to inform the University students, Stakeholders and the general public that UNIOSUN has no plan to join the ASUU Strike.
“Our students have resumed the rain semester academic session and lectures have commenced.
“Please disregard any information saying that UNIOSUN will soon join the ASUU strike.”
Recall that Dr Weinde had yesterday said that UNIOSUN is yet to join the ASUU strike because of suspension meted on the school by the ASUU National Body with the claim that negotiation is ongoing for the suspension to be lifted and as soon as that’s done, the school will join the ongoing strike.
