A group of Lagos residents captured in a viral video collecting rice while being snapped alongside their voters’ card before being handed over the palliative has sparked mixed reactions from netizens.
As seen in the video shared on Instagram on Saturday, the residents had converged a food palliative distribution event organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The organisers could be seen handing over the palliative to the beneficiaries.
However, the distribution was not completely free as the beneficiaries are required to show their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) before being given the palliative.
This had sparked mixed reactions from netizens with some questioning the motive behind the demand for PVC as requirement.
Others labelled it a vote buying scheme ahead of the 2027 Presidential election.
