The national leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Sen. Seriake Dickson, has reassured the party stakeholders and members of stability, affirming that there is no pending litigation against the party.
Seriake further maintained that there is also no appeal case against the party labelling the claims as propaganda aimed at the discouraging the members.
He made this known during his address at the party’s maiden national convention on Saturday.
The Bayelsa West Senatorial District lawmaker urged the party members to disregard the propaganda.
“Let me say that contrary to propaganda, there is no appeal at any court against our party.
“Also, there is no pending litigation whatsoever against the NDC in any court of justice in Nigeria.
“So, don’t believe that propaganda. They don’t want all of you not to be in NDC.
“They don’t want these big names here to leave the other party or any other party. That is why you have all those propaganda.” He said.
Meanwhile, Seriake charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and juidiciary to ensure fairness in the litgation cases against other opposition parties.
“We urge INEC and the judiciary to ensure all other opposition parties receive fair, proper, and legal treatment.
“And that the PDP and other opposition parties, the Labour Party, Social Democratic Party, and the African Democratic Congress must thrive as well.
“Multi-party democracy must survive as well. Nigeria needs a strong party in government as well as strong party or parties in opposition.” He said.
