The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted.
Sadiya was declared wanted over alleged criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, and diversion of public funds.
This was contained in a notice issued on Saturday by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale.
Sadiya’s last known address, according to the commission, was EN 008, Okpo River, Off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The EFCC urged members of the public with any useful information about the Zamfara-born former Minister to contact the commission’s office nearest to them.
“Anybody with useful information as to her whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: info@efcc.gov.ng or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.” The commission wrote.
Sadiya was the pioneer Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development who served under the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Born in 1974, Sadiya emerged the youngest minister in Buhari’s cabinet following her appointment in July 2019.
