A yet-to-be identified woman allegedly locked up in a room for two years by her brother over business dispute has been rescued by residents in Abuja.
The lady was found in a dark room where she was chained at Mpape are of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to reports, she was discovered when a man fetching water near the compound heard strange sounds coming from a locked room.
After investigating and alerting the community, residents stormed the building to rescued the woman who was chained in the room.
Distressing video capturing moment she was discovered showed the emaciated woman sitting in dirt with the rusty chain strapped to her ankles.
She was reportedly held captive by her own brother for four years after a dispute over a cement business they started together.
The brother was alleged to have falsely labeled her as mentally unstable and chained her inside a dark room to prevent her from claiming her share of the business.
The video had sparked outrage from netizens who expressed shock over the discovery.
