The shape of things to come ahead of the 2023 emerged further on Sunday as the Governor of Oyo, Seyi Makinde, indicated the plan to support the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu in his quest to be president.
His deputy, Bayo Lawal, who represented him at the meeting of the Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political group in Akure said political affiliation might be different, the interest of the Yoruba would be greater than any other interests.
Recall that Tinubu met with Afenifere leaders in Akure on Sunday with the leader, Reuben Fasoranti, blessing his ambition.
The group, after its meeting with Tinubu, later issued a communique, where it said that Tinubu’s antecedents in Lagos make him more qualified as next President.

“Though, political affiliation might be different, but I have the message from the Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde that wherever the Yoruba are going, that is where the Oyo State people will be,”
Makinde, NPO Reports recalls, has belonged to a caucus within the Peoples Democratic Party clamouring for the resignation of the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
The caucus is led by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
