Reports reaching the NPO Reports indicate that the former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof Adigun Agbaje has regained freedom.
Agbaje, who is the Director of African Cultural Institute was kidnapped near the Dominion University along the Lagos-Ibadan Highway on Friday.
His abduction had thrown the university community and members of his family into confusion.
It was gathered that the kidnappers released Agbaje at about 8pm Sunday. NPO Reports could not verify if ransom was paid before his release was secured. But a source confided in our correspondent that the kidnappers collected an undisclosed sum of money before he was let go.
Messages sent to the Commander of the South-West Security Network, Amotekun in Oyo State, Col. Olayinka, were not responded to at press time.
