The Independent National Electoral Commission has presented Certificate of Return to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following his re-election at the 2026 Governorship Election in the state.
NPO Reported that Adeleke had on Sunday emerged winner of the governorship poll held on last week Saturday.
The governor won the poll with 511,067 votes, beating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress who recorded 444,811 votes.
INEC would on Wednesday present the Certificate of Return to Adeleke, affirming his re-election as Osun governor.
Adeleke, in a video capturing moment he was called by INEC officials to receive the certificate, walked with his shoulders raised as he approached the podium.
The governor would then display few dance steps as his supporters hailed him.
Adeleke’s victory gives him another term in office after he first won the governorship election in 2022.
In the latest poll, he secured victories across 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11 LGAs.
