Nigerian comedian and movie producer, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has threatened to take legal actions against bloggers and media platforms circulating rumours of his attempt to reconcile with his estranged wife, Mabel Makun.
Recall that AY had in 2023 announced his separation with Mabel after almost 20 years together.
Reports had however emerged recently with speculatons of the comedian’s possible reconciliation with his estranger wife.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued on his official Instagram handle on Friday, AY debunked the rumours.
The entertainer labelled the speculations as a calculated manipulation aimed at misleading the public to gain traffic and engagement.
He warned bloggers and other platforms to desist from making such false narratives as he vowed to take legal action against any organisation or individual circulating what he called defamatory stories about him.
The statement read; “My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts suggesting that I am in a state of regret and seeking reconciliation in my past relationship.
“These publications are deliberately manipulative, calculated to mislead the public, and designed solely for traffic and engagement.
“For clarity, I have never authorized or made any such statements. If I wish to communicate my personal position on any matter, I have the platform, the reach, and the credibility to do so directly- not through faceless blogs and rumor-driven platforms,
“All such false narratives should be disregarded by the public. Moving forward, the appropriate legal measures will be instituted against individuals, blogs, or platforms that continue to publish, promote, or circulate these defamatory stories.
“This serves as a final warning: Enough of the lies.”
