The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced the conclusion of voting across polling units in Ekiti State.
This was announced in a post via the Commission’s X handle following the official close of polls at 2:30pm.
INEC confirmed that all 2,445 polling units across the state were successfully opened for the exercise, marking a near-complete coverage of the electoral process from the start of voting.
According to the commission, 2,257 polling units, representing 92.31 percent, opened on schedule before 8:30 a.m., while 188 polling units, or 7.69 percent, experienced minor delays but commenced voting before 10:30 a.m.
Despite early operational delays in a small number of locations, INEC stated that the voting exercise remained largely peaceful and orderly across the state.
With voting now concluded, attention shifts to the sorting, counting, and collation of results in designated centres.
