Former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guarantee Trust Bank, Afolabi Adeola, has debunked an online post alleging his involvement in a stock investment scheme.
Adeola in a disclaimer issued on X handle on Monday evening said that the post never emanated from him.
Attached to the disclaimer was a screenshot of the Facebook post which had the image of the former GTBank CEO with a caption urging viewers to join his WhatsApp group to receive daily high-quality stock recommendations with 98 percent accuracy.
Reacting on his X handle, Adeola disclosed that he does not have any WhatsApp group or engage in any stock recommendation scheme as he declared the Facebook post a scam.

‘There’s a troubling circulation that I’m soliciting for subscribers into a WhatsApp group for the purpose of suggesting stocks they can invest in.
‘It’s a scam. I do not engage in the business of recommending stocks. Be careful.’ He said.
The businessman urged members of the public not to fall into the trap as he reiterated that he does not run any platform on stock selection and never solicited for subscribers.
