Suspended Kogi lawmaker, Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has vowed to return to the Senate following court’s order which lifted her suspension.
NPO Reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had on Friday ordered the Red Chamber to recall the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District while slamming N5 million fine at her over cyber bullying.
Recall that Natasha was on the 6th of March suspended for six months by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions over gross misconduct.
However, the presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako, had described the duration of the suspension as unduly excessive.
Sequel to the judgement, the lawmaker on Sunday visited her constituency where she was received by jubilant mammoth crowd.
As captured in a video shared on X, the lawmaker announced plan to resume to the Senate by Tuesday while expressing her gratitude to her jubilant supporters.
“I thank you for your support. I am glad we are victorious today. We shall resume in the Senate on Tuesday by the grace of God,” she stated.
NPO Reported that Natasha’s suspension occured days after she challenged the upper chamber’s leadership over sitting arrangement.
Prior to her suspension, she had appeared on Arise TV where she accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of sexual harassment, an allegation which had since become a legal warfare between the lawmaker and the former Akwa-Ibom State Governor.
