An Accord Party agent, Taiwo Adesola, has alleged attack on Osun State House of Assembly lawmaker, Abiola Awoyeye, by the All Progressives Congress candidate, Adeyinka Adejobi, popularly known as Esho, at the ongoing 2026 Osun Governorship Election.
Adesola made the disclosure while addressing newsmen at Polling Unit 10, Ward 1, Ajebandele in Ile-Ife.
The party agent recounted how Esho had arrived at the polling unit with a convoy which had the presidency’s plate number.
Shortly after his arrival, Awoyeye would also appear at the polling unit where clash broke out between him and the APC chieftain.
The lawmaker representing Ife Central State Constituency was allegedly assaulted by Esho.
‘We saw a convoy with five vehicles. One has presidency plate number.
‘Suddenly we saw a candidate of APC, Adeyinka Adejobi, Esho, with his gang.
‘Some minutes later, we saw another convoy of of the incumbent house of assembly service.
‘He came in and we saw them attack the guy. He was beaten up, rough handled and tore his clothe.’ The Accord Party agent said.
His account of the incident was however dismissed by Olanrewaju Omolade, the APC agent present at the polling unit.
On her part, Olanrenwaju claimed that Esho only visited the polling unit to encourage voters to cooperate with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s officials.
She accused the Accord Party agent of lying.
‘There is nothing like that. He is telling a lie That person just came here to advise us to cooperate with INEC officials.’ Olanrewaju said.
Meanwhile, a video shared on X confirmed the clash at the polling as a visibly enraged Awoyeye could be seen with his clothes torn.
Another clip showed moment Esho was pulled away from the lawmaker.
Awoyeye could be heard vowing take revenge on Esho and tear his clothe.
The APC chieftain however dared him as he was ushered away from the scene.
